LXX began in 1968 as a men’s club. That changed in 2022 when women became full status members. What did not change was the club’s purpose of fostering the historical and social underpinnings of the game of golf. LXX is an organization where older men and women can continue to compete, in a friendly, congenial manner, always demonstrating appreciation for golf’s  history, tradition, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, and respect.

The Club gathers a minimum two times a year. The venues are usually in warm temperature areas of the country, at prestigious resorts with famous or exclusive golf facilities. A springtime meeting commonly features team competitions.  The club’s annual meeting is generally staged in the fall with a combination team and club championship competitions.

Recent past venues for LXX meetings include The Country Club of North Carolina, Haig Point, Daufuskie Island, SC, TPC San Antonio, Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, and Mountain Lake with an upcoming Spring 2026 meeting at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA.
